For some, working from home is something they have been familiar with for a long time. For most, the year 2020 was a special year in which working from home was introduced for the first time, and for this latter group, we have some essential tips to make working from home a success!
A fixed schedule is KEY!
Make sure that, just like ‘normal’ working days in the office, you create a schedule with fixed activities at fixed times. Start your day as if you’re going out according to your daily routine. Create a realistic schedule, take more frequent short breaks to better sustain your work. Try to make fixed agreements with your housemates regarding the space where you will be working. Also, with regard to the working hours you adhere to. If you work with children in the same house, play and work rules are also important. Try to organize your day so that you can schedule work when they take an afternoon nap and/or when they are engaged in a task. There should also be time for you to relax. Don’t underestimate this; taking a break is important to be more productive.
Clothing during working from home
We all understand that if you don’t plan to see your colleagues or clients in person, the pressure of a fantastic outfit is less. You will undoubtedly look for clothing that is comfortable rather than clothing that is well-groomed and neat. We have ideal solutions for this because a good outfit ensures that you appear well-groomed, confident, and reliable. This is something you radiate from the moment you start working. In your emails, phone calls, and Zoom meetings, you can look confident.
Check out our shirts with stretch, brands like our own brand Suitable Knitted shirts, Desoto, Profuomo Sky Blue, Olymp 24/Seven. These are shirts that have a bit of elastane added to them. As a result, the shirts are as flexible as a sweater. In addition, you still maintain your professional and businesslike appearance. There are also formal trousers in the Suitable collection that are comfortable. These have the wearing comfort of jogging pants but look like neat chinos, and they can be combined perfectly with formal sneakers or shoes.
Workspace for working from home
Ensure a tidy and structured workplace. Anything you don’t need during your workday can be stored away. Choose a table and chair at a comfortable height. A height at which both feet rest on the ground, and the shoulders are relaxed. In some cases, a dining chair works, but often you can request a work chair through your work. This chair is easier to adjust in height.
Ensure good lighting; daylight is pleasant during the day, although it should not compromise the visibility of your screen. Ventilation and the right temperature are undoubtedly one of the most important aspects that are overlooked for a successful workday. If it’s too hot in your house, you’re more likely to become tired and/or listless. In a much colder room, your attention will be distracted, and instead of working with concentration, your focus will be on the fact that you are feeling cold.
Stay in touch with colleagues
It remains important to maintain good contact with your colleagues during the period of working from home. You are not the only one looking for a balance between work and relaxation on the home front. Normally, you encounter colleagues on the workplace, and a brief chat can make you find joy in your work again and make you enthusiastic to get back to work. They may also be able to provide tips to make working from home a success.
