5 sustainable menswear brands at a glance
Dressing more consciously starts with the right brands. We’ve selected five sustainable menswear brands, from Suitable Respect to standout labels with real character.

Colorful Standard

Sustainable clothing doesn't have to be boring at all! Colorful Standard proves time and again that with simple designs and an extensive colour palette you can combine endlessly. Thanks to the well-thought-out fit, the garments are also particularly comfortable. What's more, this brand donates a portion of its profits to good causes.

KnowledgeCotton Apparel

KnowledgeCotton Apparel is a sustainable clothing brand through and through. For more than 40 years, they've used environmentally friendly materials such as organic cotton and recycled polyester. They reduce their CO2 footprint by using as little water and energy as possible during production. The iconic owl logo fits perfectly with their 'world of knowledge' philosophy.

MEYER

MEYER is a European specialist in men's trousers. With more than 60 years of experience, this German family business knows exactly how to produce them sustainably. Since 2020, they've been completely climate-neutral. In addition, their cotton meets the requirements of the Fairtrade certification, so you can be sure you're buying responsible trousers.

MUD Jeans

Men's MUD jeans are no ordinary jeans. They use recycled denim and produce in a fully circular way. With 30 years of experience, they've reduced their ecological footprint to a minimum. Extra special: at MUD Jeans you can also lease men's jeans for just a tenner a month! After being worn, these are recycled again.

VEJA

VEJA is a shoe brand that revolves around innovation and authenticity. They source rubber from the Amazon region and work with ateliers in countries such as Peru and Uruguay. By investing less in marketing, they can spend more money on the quality and sustainability of their men's sneakers.

How to identify sustainable clothing brands?

The above is just a selection of the sustainable brands you'll find at Suitable. Are you in doubt whether a brand is really sustainable or just applying clever marketing? Then look out for recognised certifications such as Global Organic Cotton Standard (GOTS), Fairtrade Cotton and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Also always check the label in the garment. That way you can see straight away what it's made of and why it's a responsible choice. Note: organic doesn't automatically mean fair. So it pays to research in advance whether a brand also pays attention to fair working conditions and a transparent production process.
