A wedding suit
In autumn it's usually a bit chillier. That's why, at this time of year, wedding suits are available in deeper colours such as dark green, rust and dark blue. Layers always work well in autumn too! Why? Because a warmer day can just as easily crop up in between. Choose a waistcoat that matches the rest of the suit so you can take off your blazer whenever you feel the need. With a waistcoat with your suit, you always look smart.
Wedding Shirts
There are more than enough shirts, but what is the right one? If you really want to do it properly, go for a wedding shirt. These shirts always have a slightly more stylish look and a different fabric than 'ordinary' business shirts. But whatever you choose, as long as your shirt matches the colour of the bridal dress. With white or off-white you're therefore usually fine.
In addition, you have the choice between a single or double cuff. So weigh up whether you want to wear cufflinks; these must extend below the sleeves of the jacket. Usually, cufflinks are worn from generation to generation. It can happen that you buy them yourself, perhaps to start a new tradition. In that case, take a look at our range of cufflinks here.
Tie
A tie completes the outfit and gives it more cachet. Which tie you choose is up to you. Don't forget that you're allowed to stand out on this special day, so the tie doesn't have to be safe dark blue. Want to be sure that no one has the same tie? Then go for a champagne-coloured tie. This colour automatically evokes something festive and you'll look stylish. Do you find it difficult to choose the right tie? Then get advice in one of our shops.
Shoes
The right shoes with the suit complete the outfit. Wearing Sneakers is possible, but a nice smart shoe is more suitable after all. There are many different kinds of smart men's shoes. Take a good look at what suits you best and choose from a lace-up shoe, single monk, double monk, and make a choice between suede or leather.
Socks
You may not think about it every day, and certainly not on the most beautiful day of your life, but your socks say something about your character. When you choose black smart socks, that's your choice and you prefer a somewhat more conservative way of wearing them. But if you're mad about colours and have a group of friends who consider humour very important, then go for Happy Socks for once. Take a quick look at our extensive collection of socks, from basic to fun prints.
Getting married, but not wearing a wedding suit
Don't want to wear a suit? Then you'll look smart with a chino combined with a shirt and blazer. That's also something that's completely of this era! Do coordinate this in advance with your bride, though. In this respect, a woman is somewhat more traditional than a man and likes to see you appear at the altar in a men's suit. If you do go for a somewhat more sporty look, pay attention to the details and make sure you still match the bride.
A special day calls for a special outfit
Hopefully you have enough inspiration to put together a nice outfit for yourself and make it an unforgettable day.
