Kent collar
This is a classic collar that was made popular by the Duke of Kent in the 19th century. Because the points of this collar point straight forward, they are especially suitable for wearing ties. Button-down collar
This is a popular collar for informal shirts. You can recognise these shirts by the fact that the points of the collar are fastened with buttons. This keeps the collar neatly in place. Button-down shirts are generally considered versatile and appropriate for a wide range of occasions. This collar looks most stylish on men with a broad face.
Button-under collar (hidden button-down)
This is a collar style that has many similarities to the button-down collar. The biggest difference is that the buttons securing the collar are attached on the underside. Because the fastening points are invisible, the shirt has a neater and more formal appearance than the button-down collar. This collar looks good on men with an oval or round face.
Spread collar
The most striking feature of this modern collar is that the points are set wide apart, sometimes at an angle of 90° or more. This wide opening allows you to easily wear thicker ties and tie wider knots. Because of this, these shirts are mainly associated with formal and business occasions. Cutaway collar
Just like the widespread, the cutaway collar is wider than usual, but with the cutaway the points run almost parallel to the shoulders. This gives the shirt a streamlined and modern appearance. Wing collar (wingtip)
